The king of soup, New England Clam Chowder.

There are two kinds of clam chowder in the world.

 

One is Boston's famous NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER(cream base) and another is MANHATTAN CLAM CHOWDER(tomato base).

In Massachusetts, adding tomatoes to your favorate clam chowder is actually ILLEGAL!!,because the addition of tomatoes would turn NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER into MANHATTAN CLAM CHOWDER.
